Sailing St. Maarten

The island of St. Maarten or on the French side St. Martin is one of the most action and fun packed spots in the Caribbean. Of the multitude of fun things to do, skimming out of port and Sailing St. Maarten to explore the Caribbean on your own sailing vessel is as good as it gets. With several highly reputable charter companies and a central location to many of the Caribbean’s best ports of call, St. Maarten is a great place to weigh anchor. St. Maarten was part of the Netherlands Antilles, a group of five islands that included Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba and Statia with Auguiila, The British Virgin Islands and St. Kitts all within a short sail. so choice of port of call will never be easy. The area offers perfect sailing conditions ( weather dependent as always ) for even moderately skilled sailors. If you are a novice sailor or just want to spend your time not stressing over the choirs of being in command you can book your vessel with a qualified captain and or crew. If you have never seen the tropics from a boat, we highly recommend adding this to your bucket list.

When Sailing St. Maarten the type of vessel you choose is an important one. If you are looking to push your skill level and skipper a boat you are going to rent, it is very important to discuss your skill level withe your charter agents. Perhaps the only thing that could make your adventure more memorable is if you were to sink your rented zillion dollar sail boat. Buffet Beach doesn’t want to scare you, just be safe out there when sailing on the fair trade winds of St. Maarten. If you are looking for the perfect swim wear while on the waves we can recommend South Beach Swim Wear. You will look great in it on your boat.
