The Singapore Sling classic TIKI cocktail

One of the oldest and most iconic cocktails in the TIKI pantheon is The Singapore Sling. The classic Singapore Sling Tiki cocktail has everything that is needed to be a classic TIKI cocktail. IT has an exotic history, it has a bit of intrigue, We know who the original artist who created it was and best of all it is delicious. As the story goes, at some point in the early teens of the twentieth century the sun never set on the British Empire. One of the jewels of the empire’s Oriental holdings was Singapore. One of the most popular hangouts for the wide range of ex-pats traveling through Singapore was Raffles Hotel. The center of activity at this exotic meeting place was the Long Bar. In the world of Victorian social edequit, he men lounged around at all hours of the day and night drinking whatever they pleased, the ladies, not so much. The ladies were stuck with tea and fruit punches. Enter a genius of the bar arts at the Long Bar, Ngiam Tong Boon. He concocted a drink that resembled the fruit punches the ladies were allowed to drink in public and packed a REAL punch. The original recipe for the Singapore Sling, like any good TIKI story, seems to lost to time, but rest assured it has nothing in common with the average swill most restaurants claim to be a Sling. Several recipes we will share are probably pretty close so try them all and see witch one you like best.
